For International Women’s Day, Joanne Therrien was the keynote speaker at the Prix Réseau 2009.
On March 8, 2006, Joanne was also the keynote speaker in Dakar, Senegal, West Africa. She was invited by the President of Dakar regional government, Abdoulaye Faye, andspoke to 150 women leaders of Senegal at the first National Forum for Women Entrepreneurship.
A second visit followed in January 2007, with a two-day business management session.

The time has come to speak openly about mental illness, a disorder that a staggering one out of four people will suffer from in their lifetime. The impact of this epidemic is made all the more devastating by the fact for every person with mental illness there are countless family members and loved ones who are also asked to pay the price for society’s silence on this issue.
A special Book issue on Mental health, by various authors, Mille mots d’Amour, was launched in April and is available at the Bookstore. All proceeds go to mental health organizations.
The Sara Riel organization also holds their Road to recovery fundraising dinner in the month of June.
