Enterprising Women

March 5, 2007

On International Women’s Day, March 8, 2006, Joanne was the keynote speaker in Dakar, Senegal, West Africa. She was invited by the President of Dakar regional government, Abdoulaye Faye, and spoke to 150 women leaders of Senegal at the first National Forum for Women Entrepreneurship. A second visit followed in January 2007, with a two-day business management session.

The impact of this epidemic is made all the more devastating by the fact for every person with mental illness there are countless family members and loved ones who are also asked to pay the price for society’s silence on this issue.
