This was announced today by Shelly Glover, Member of Parliament (Saint Boniface), on behalf of the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

The time has come to speak openly about mental illness, a disorder that a staggering one out of four people will suffer from in their lifetime. The impact of this epidemic is made all the more devastating by the fact for every person with mental illness there are countless family members and loved ones who are also asked to pay the price for society’s silence on this issue.

A special Book issue on Mental health, by various authors, Mille mots d’Amour, was launched in April and is available at the Bookstore. All proceeds go to mental health organizations.

The Sara Riel organization also holds their Road to recovery fundraising dinner in the month of June.
